Andrea’s Angel Walk

Andrea’s Angel Walk is an annual 5k walk/run named in honour of Andrea Ndukwu. It’s dedicated to raising awareness of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). SCD is a rare blood disorder affecting red blood cells and their ability to provide oxygen while flowing through the body. Despite being the #1 inherited blood disorder sickle cell patients face many barriers to care. Our 9th annual Andrea’s Angel Walk will be at Kildonan Park on September 12th 2026. The opening ceremonies will start at 09:45am. More details below

About Andrea Ndukwu

Andrea was a fierce sickle warrior who lost her battle to the disease at the tender age of seven. Her spirit and infectious smile precedes her and inspires this event.

The namesake walk is used to honor such a beautiful soul. Although her physical presence is seriously missed, this guardian angel has always been a constant source of love and light to the Ndukwu family.

Andrea’s Angel Walk is held annually in September which is Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Funds raised help us support families living with Sickle Cell Disease right here in our community. Your contributions will go towards community events, educational outreach, and pushing for better care for those living with Sickle Cell Disease in Manitoba. Every dollar helps carry Andrea’s spirit forward. Building a stronger, more compassionate support system for those who need it most.

Support the Cause

Every donation helps us honour Andrea's memory while advancing awareness, advocacy, and real support for individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease in Manitoba. Last year's funds helped secure a dedicated social worker to keep our support groups running monthly, and helped us hold our very first Dine & Discover event for World Sickle Cell Day.

Help us reach our goal of $6,000 and make this year's walk the biggest one yet. As a registered charity, we'll issue a tax receipt for your donation.
