Be part of our support group

By becoming a member, you gain access to valuable resources, a network of empathetic peers, and a platform to both give and receive support. We invite you to be a part of our supportive family, where understanding, encouragement, and solidarity thrive.

Join us virtually

Join us the first two Thursdays in the month, starting May 4th.

The Sickle Circle of Manitoba (SCM) introduces virtual support group meetings. This group aims to engage patients and caregivers in a safe space to express any difficulties or successes that can be shared amongst peers.

Beverly Ndukwu will be facilitating the sessions. Please submit the form below prior to joining your first session. We look forward to seeing you.

Newborn Screening (NBS)

Manitoba is one of two provinces left in Canada to add Sickle Cell Disease to their newborn registry. It is of utmost importance to get SCD on the list to avoid missed diagnosis.

Advocacy

The Sickle Circle of Manitoba aims to be a sounding voice for all individuals affected by SCD. Through our community we will tackle the challenges Sickle Cell presents, and stand against adversity to break down the social barriers associated with the disease.

Education

We will provide education sessions for patients, families, and health care workers in order to work towards standardized care in Manitoba for all patients living with SCD

Outreach

The Sickle Circle of Manitoba provides patient outreach to it’s members in need. Weather it’s support in getting to medical appointments, or resource materials to help educate. Feel free to reach out.
