Andrea’s Angel Walk

Andrea’s Angel Walk is an annual 5k walk/run named in honour of Andrea Ndukwu. It’s dedicated to raising awareness of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). SCD is a rare blood disorder affecting red blood cells and their ability to provide oxygen while flowing through the body. Despite being the #1 inherited blood disorder sickle cell patients face many barriers to care.

Andrea Ndukwu

Andrea was a fierce sickle warrior who lost her battle to the disease at the tender age of seven. Her spirit and infectious smile precedes her and inspires this event.

The namesake walk is used to honor such a beautiful soul. Although her physical presence is seriously missed, this guardian angel has always been a constant source of love and light to the Ndukwu family.

Andrea’s Angel Walk is held annually in September which is Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Funds raised this year are going towards a ride share program to help counteract the financial strain associated with numerous hospital visits and appointments throughout the year.
